These iChat (Version 1) pages are coloured Blue and have the iChat (1) icon on them that was in use at the time, so you know where you are. The icon differs from later ones by having the Running Man.
These pages have sat here since 2008 with no update. In that time the AIM servers have been closed down (2017) and iChat has been superceded by Messages. That effectively make this a sort of Historical Document of how it worked.

As with most applications that involving typing the Edit menu deals with Copy and Paste and Spelling as the most used items.
Being iChat (1) it has a Delete option here. (Edit 2024: I am struggling to remember the precise function but I am fairly sure you could delete individual Bubbles from Chats before Saving. This may have implications as a 'true and fair record' in some cases). Obviously highlighting and Backspace as a form of Delete still applies
It also has the menu option to Add Smiley (As opposed to the Button in a Chat Window).
Even in iChat (1) you can turn words and phrases into Hyperlinks either from here or the listed Keystrokes of Command ⌘ (or possibly ) plus the K key together.
Up comes the View Menu next
