These iChat 4 pages are coloured Gray and have the iChat 4 icon on them that was in use at the time, so you know where you are. The icon differs little from the Version 3 version.
These pages have sat here since 2008 with no update. In that time the AIM servers have been closed down (2017) and iChat has been superseded by Message and FaceTime. That effectively make this a sort of Historical Document of how it worked.

This is the iChat 4 Window menu. (You can see there is a Help menu item as well but as a Help menu appears in most applications I will not be including it - so this is the last picture in the series)
Minimize places the front window of the Application on the DOCK - the same as the Amber Button at the top left of any window.
Zoom resizes the front window to Full Screen height like the Green Button's action. Repeating the Zoom option returns the window to it's previous size.
Bring all the the Front will bring any and all iChat windows that are open to be in Front of the windows of other Applications of any Finder windows that are open. If you have a larger iChat window that is over the top of a smaller one it will not reveal the smaller one.
A New thing. The Previous and Next chat options are for Text chats. If you have multiple text chats open - and - they have beenTabbed, where it will rotate the choice to the front.
More Changes. Each Buddy List you have open or at least Logged in (As the Red Button will hide the window) will show in this list. The order will depend on the order set in the iChat Preferences > Accounts pane where they can be dragged in to the order you want. This will mean that the Keystrokes now listed are personal to you.
As iChat 4 lets you log in to multiple AIM valid Names and Jabber IDs the name (And title shown on the Buddy List) will change to the Screen Name. A single Login to AIM or a Jabber server will list that Buddy List as "AIM" or "Jabber" Buddy List. (See picture below that has two Jabber but only one AIM name logged in).
The File Transfers option in fact opens up the iChat Downloads file giving you a history of Files sent or attempted to be sent to you.
The Address Book link is a permanent item in the List and gives you access to it.
As you open Chat Windows they are added to the list as well as this picture shows. This can be useful to find hidden or covered up File Transfers and Invite windows that can be small.
Any window that is opened will get listed including the Preferences at the icon/pane that is showing. In this last Picture a chat of some sort to the Apple Test account of appleu3test01@mac.com is the only one that is listed, meaning the 4 Buddy Lists are logged in but Hidden and a Chat window is open.
