12[15] 12 Status Message Edit 19-10-2008

Whichever version you have the Edit Window looks very similar. The only difference being the number of Preset options there are.

Highlight a line and you can edit it with a further double click.

Use the + and - buttons to Add a new Item or Delete one (this tends to have to be highlighted first).

Important Note: These Messages are stored in the com.apple.ichat.plist along with everything that you can change in the Preferences. It is the only thing I know about iChat that is stored in the .plist that is not controlled by the Preferences. If, though, for any reason you have to delete the com.app.ichat.plist then you will lose these as well.

About This Page

The Status Message Edit window.

This is where you control adding New ones or Deleting old ones.

Compatibility

Confirmed to work with Win/IE 5.5 and later (should work in 5.0, but not confirmed), Firefox 2, Safari 3, Opera 9, iCab 3.02 and later, Mac/IE 5, Netscape 6 and later

Old browsers (IE version 4 or earlier, Netscape 4 or earlier) should only see a text-based page which, while not the prettiest option, is still entirely usable.
