Webmaster iChat Online Status Indicator

Contact Testers

Suitable for iChat 2.x, iChat 3.x and iChat 4.x

Everything is in the title.

Testing with Another User
Use the Tables below to contact the various Test Accounts or Real people testers.

The Online/Offline Status Indicators are just that - indicators. Mine top and bottom are the active ones that will text me.

Table 1. These account names need to be added manually to your Buddy List. Apple runs Tiger on some and Leopard on others. I may not have them marked up correctly. Some play iPhone ads others play "I am a Mac..." ads. One at least plays a Video Effects feedback placing a Pirate hat on your Head and follows your movement.

Regarding the next Table. This has been edited in May 2006 and again in Sept 08. It now includes the relevant screen name of the person (Where they have agreed). Their Apple ID is also listed which, in most cases, links to a profile at the Apple Discussions. This can be the Current discussions and in some it is the Profile in the Previous Discussions. With the Previous discussions you may find that if you have recently registered on the Apple Discussions you may find that you do not see the whole Profile and the iChat name is missing from the display.

Regarding the iChat name - some prefer arrangements by email first - some list trial account @mac accounts that are not current email accounts, just to add to your fun.

Add the Test account name or the contact's account/screen name into your iChat Buddy List.

    I would suggest Texting first.

Then you can double click the Video icon. In the Edit of September '08 I have included those that I know are on Leopard.

Some of us can boot back into older versions of the OS and therefore older iChat versions.

Compatibility

Confirmed to work with Win/IE 5.5 and later (should work in 5.0, but not confirmed), Firefox 2, Safari 3, Opera 9, iCab 3.02 and later, Mac/IE 5, Netscape 6 and later

Old browsers (IE version 4 or earlier, Netscape 4 or earlier) should only see a text-based page which, while not the prettiest option, is still entirely usable.
